The Federal Alliance has begun relay hunger strike from today after announcing a change in the form of its agitation. Top leaders of the Alliance that launched protest programs in Tarai and Kathmandu in different phases began relay hunger strike at Khullamanch from this morning. According to the Alliance, it resorted to hunger strike to exert more pressure on government after it did not address its demands. Co-Chairman of the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Rajendra Shrestha, said that the Alliance was compelled to stage relay hunger strike after the government turned indifferent to their demands. Top leaders of Madhesi Morcha including Upendra Yadav, Ashok Rai, Renu Yadav, Sarat Singh Bhandari, among others are participating in the relay hunger strike. Twenty-nine parties including Madhesi Morcha are associated with the Alliance, which has been expressing dissatisfaction over some issues in the new constitution including delineation of provinces.
