The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), which is up in arms about some provisions of the constitution, boycotted today’s Legislature-Parliament meeting. Lawmakers of the protesting political parties associated with the UDMF stood from their respective seats in protest as soon as the House session began. However, despite the protest, Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar gave time to Haricharan Sah of the protesting Nepali Janata Dal to express his views. Sah hit out at the alleged ignorance about their concerns, clarifying that they boycotted the meeting as their demands are yet to be addressed.
