Nepal national football team striker Bimal Gharti Magar’s 17-year-old sister has been found dead at Bhanunagar in Bardaghat Municipality-8 of Nawalparasi district on Wednesday night.

Acting President of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Narendra Shrestha confirmed the death of Manisha Gharti Magar.

According to DSP Arjun Ranabhat at the Nawalparasi District Police Office, Manisha was found dead at her room this morning.

It has been learned that she was alone in the house when the incident took place.

Manisha and her mother were living in the house. However, her mother had gone to Butwal for some tasks. The mother had returned home this morning to find the dead body of her only daughter on the bed.
She had instantly called police after noticing some bloodstains on the bed sheet.
Police said bruises were seen on her throat.

Meanwhile, Bimal is currently in Belgium for treatment of his leg. After being informed of the incident, he is scheduled to reach Kathmandu on Friday.

The body has been sent to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for autopsy.
‘Boyfriend’ arrested

Meanwhile, police arrested a youth on suspicion of his involvement in the alleged murder of Manisha Gharti. He is Rudra Narayan Chaudhary aka Aashish (22), whom Manisha was in relationship with for last four years, according to police.

Police claimed Chaudhary had visited Manisha on Wednesday evening. They had some disputes yesterday after which Chaudhary had beaten up Manisha, Nepal Police posted on its official Facebook page this evening.

Chaudhary then came out of the house and stayed on the verandah. Meanwhile, Manisha tried to hang herself with a stole and Chaudhary knew it. He instantly entered into the house and lifted the girl from the noose of the stole. But, the girl died and Chaudhary returned to his home with the stole, preliminary police investigations revealed
